Did 2 contracts per trade today. Was tempted to jump in on a few occasions around the time when the FOMC statement came out. Good thing I held back and sat on my hands. Always dangerous to trade during these types of events. Fast money could be made, but even faster money could be donated away.

BTW, IB no longer supports TWS 938.1. NT users will need to update to version 944.3 prior to tomorrow May 1st. Doing my update tonight.

Only traded the morning session, as I have to be away for the afternoon to run some errands. Would've had an even better day, if not for a losing short trade. Was too quick on the trigger. If I had waited for more confirmation of the setup, I would've realized that I was shorting near the trend line support area. Live and learn, I guess (I hope).

The early morning down move was just too quick for me. Sat on the sideline, as I was not comfortable trading in such a fast market. In the past, I tend to end up buying the tops and selling the bottoms, when trying to join in.

Finding it very hard to stay concentrated on the chart all day. I tend to toggle between the chart and news, trading and travel sites. This results in quite a few missed trade setups. Need to be more disciplined at trading (it's a job, after all). Then again, I said the same thing awhile back. Maybe consider changing the title of this blog to "Distracted Trader"?

Happens quite often, but not sure why I tend to trade against the general market direction. Was an uptrend day today, but all 3 of my trades were countertrend (shorts). I was not filled on the long setup that I liked. Would've been a very good winner, had I gotten in with a runner, though.

Misread a couple of trade setups - took a full 2 pt stop on one of them. That was a pretty rough blow. Anyway, gonna try trading with a runner (2 contracts) again tomorrow. Did it a few times in the past, but didn't have much luck. Majority of the time, prices would go in my trade direction, after stopping out my runner.

Same shit, different shoe. I saw 15 setups today and took only 4. 2 of the 4 weren't even that good - one was a loss and the other came within a hair's breadth of being stopped out for a full 2 pt. The skipped ones, on the other hand, were almost all stress-free and relatively easy winners. Going forward, I need to trade like a Vulcan - no emotions involved, only logic. Easier said than done, though.

Finally got my replacement laptop for my failing desktop this Tuesday 4/1! Ordered it online on 3/11 direct from the manufacturer. Scheduled delivery was 3/17. When that date approached near, delivery was pushed back to 3/27. When that date approached near, delivery was pushed back again to 3/31. Then to 4/3! Frack that! Have had enough of the delays. Cancelled my order and walked over to my local Staples to buy one, instead.
